Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes also referred to as juvenile or insulin independent diabetes. However it doesn't mean it can't develop in adults, which normally lead to a confusion as type 2 and hence treatment of wrong type of diabetes. It is caused when body cannot produce any insulin, or there is destruction of beta cell of pancreas that produces insulin. Which is required in controlling level of glucose (sugar) in your blood? Normally type 1 diabetes occurs very fast-like some few days up to weeks. It is normally occur when blood sugar rises above normal range known as hyperglycemia.
Usually type 1 symptoms are unnoticed more so if the person has recently had an illness. Some of its symptoms are frequent urination- which may be more noticeable at night, some children who have learned to use the toilet may start wetting the bed during forty winks or at night, feeling very thirst and a dry mouth, unintentional Weight loss, great hunger than before, producing excessive amounts of urine, feeling tired.
Other symptoms are itchiness around the vagina or penis or getting thrush regularly,
Blurred vision often caused by the lens of eye becoming very dry, cramps, constipation, and skin infections. However if you have diabetes and you develop following symptoms: loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting (feeling or being sick), A high temperature, stomach pain, or a fruity smell on your breath, which may smell like pear drops or nail varnish. Then you need to seek medical attention immediately.
There is no proved preventive measure against type 1 diabetes since most people who develop type 1 were healthy and had right weight. But research shows that they can lose weight quickly and without control. Diet and exercise may be the best remedy to strengthen immune system from damage. It is important to know that frequent insulin injections helps to keep type 1 diabetes under control.
